Design Ratios on Beam Panels | Connectors

The result tables in the Design Ratios on Beam Panels | Connectors category contain the results data for the design checks of the fasteners for beam panels, including the respective design ratios.

Important

This table category is available if a beam panel has been selected for design and the check box for design of connectors has been selected in the Global Settings dialog box.

The results are sorted in the tabs according to the following criteria:

  • Loads (design situations, load combinations)
  • Objects (beam panels, lines, line locations x)

Beam Panel No.

Each beam panel has a surface assigned to it. The number of this surface is specified here.

Line No.

The number of the line generated for the connection between the sheathing and the girder or rib is specified here; this is where the respective design ratio is applied.

Beam Type

The location of the member is described here:

  • Horizontal member at the top edge (-y) or bottom edge (+y) of the plate (see Beam Panel | Beams)
  • Vertical member at the left edge (-x) or right edge (+x) of the plate (see Beam Panel | Beams)
  • Inner stud: Studs within the plate

Connectors between Sheathing and Beams

The two columns list the numbers of the generated sheathing surfaces and beams or ribs that are connected to each other by staples or nails.

Tip

You can activate the display of the numbers of the generated objects in the Navigator – Display using the option Model → Basic Objects → Surfaces → Beam Panels to enable their display. As an alternative, use the Show Beam Panel button in the toolbar.

Design Situation

This column lists the numbers of the design situations for which the individual design ratios are available.

Loading

The numbers of the load or result combinations that are governing for the respective design checks are specified.

Design Check Ratio

This column lists the design conditions according to a standard. The degree of the respective design ratio is indicated by the length of the colored bar.

Design Check Type

Each design check is identified by a numerical code. For example, ultimate limit state design checks according to Eurocode are identified by the code “UL”, while serviceability limit state design checks are identified by the code “SE”. The design check type is explained in the Description column.

Design Check Formula

You can activate this column in the Result Table Manager. It lists the equations in the standard used for the design checks.

Description

Each design check is explained with a brief description that refers to the relevant chapter in the standard.

Tip

You can display the design check details for a specific design ratio by clicking the Design check details button or double-clicking in the row.

Filtering Results

The chapter Design Ratios on Members describes how to filter the results by limit state and by design ratio.
