Cross-section optimization in the Steel Design, Timber Design, and Aluminum Design add-on modules takes into account the influence of the modified cross-section on the design ratios in SLS design situations by incorporating the ratio of the moments of inertia of the original and optimized cross-sections into the calculation. Previously, optimization for SLS design checks relied exclusively on deformations from the solver and the associated limit values, without taking the cross-section properties themselves into account. As a result, users now receive consistent and technically accurate cross-section optimization even for deformation analysis.
