Design and Structural Analysis of Steel Roof for La Rosaleda Stadium

This final thesis, submitted for the Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology Engineering, aims to design and calculate a metal roof for La Rosaleda Stadium in Málaga, Spain. Its purpose is to protect spectators from inclement weather and enhance their comfort by fully covering the stands. Additionally, the design has a symbolic element: viewed from above, its shape resembles a rose, alluding to the stadium’s name.

Due to the desired geometry, a truss system was chosen as the structural solution. The report details the main characteristics of the design, including material selection, the type of structural sections, and the analysis of the forces acting on the structure.

The Dlubal software RFEM 6 was used for modeling and structural analysis, selected for its accuracy and versatility in the design of steel structures in accordance with Eurocode criteria. This tool was used to perform a static analysis of the structure, evaluating key aspects such as maximum deflection, as well as a stability analysis for the most unfavorable buckling cases and the design of the most heavily loaded truss joint.

The results confirm the technical and functional feasibility of the proposed solution, ensuring its structural safety in accordance with current regulations.
