Connections of Columns and Walls in Building Model

How do I model pinned connections of columns and walls in a Building Model?

Answer:

The connections of columns and walls can be defined using nodal and line support modeling in the “Global Settings” of the Building Model.

If columns or walls are additionally defined as hinged, and the floor slab stiffness is set to “Rigid,” you'll need to ensure to always lock one degree of freedom on one side of a column so that the system does not become kinematic. Otherwise, the structural system would be statically underdetermined based on the internal hinges of a rigid diaphragm.
