Design of SHAPE-THIN Cross-Section

For the design of any SHAPE‑THIN cross-section, you can use the following options in the RFEM 5 or RSTAB 8 programs:

• Stability and stress analysis with the RF-/STEEL EC3 add-on module and the RF-/STEEL Warping Torsion module extension
  

  1 Warping Analysis of Member Cross-Section
• Generating surfaces from the cross-section (possible in RFEM only; see Image 02), and a new definition of support and a subsequent stress analysis of the newly created surfaces with RF-STEEL Surfaces, if necessary; Under certain circumstances, it is reasonable to perform a stability analysis using RF-STABILITY for the surface model.
