Influence of Partial Safety Factor γM in RF-GLASS

Does the activation of the partial safety factor γM have an effect on the calculation in RF‑GLASS?

Answer:

Yes, it is. Since the determination of the allowable limit stress for various glass units applies a different γM factor according to DIN 18008, this factor is also included in our material library. However, the consequence is that by activating this option, the stiffness of the structural system is reduced by this factor.

In the case of the analysis of solid loads (climatic loads) in particular, the reduced stiffness of the system also has an effect on the calculated stresses and deformations.
